We’ve had the same client questions, the same last-minute scrambles for information, and the same frustration trying to piece together accurate details about the Dominican Republic.

We met in 2024 at the Romance Travel Forum in Mexico, and what started as a casual conversation quickly became a genuine friendship. From that point on, we found ourselves constantly consulting each other on travel questions, resort insights, tricky client scenarios, and everything in between.

We’ve seen how helpful similar resource communities have been for advisors selling Mexico, but nothing like that existed for the Dominican Republic.

So… we built it.

Between us, we’ve visited 60+ resorts in 2026 across the Dominican Republic—walking the properties, touring rooms, and speaking directly with resort teams.

We don’t rely on brochures—we rely on firsthand experience.

Hi, I’m Liza Jacobus, a travel advisor specializing in destination weddings, honeymoons, romance travel, and groups.

My journey into travel began after planning my own destination wedding, which sparked a deeper interest in the industry and the opportunity to help couples celebrate life’s biggest moments in incredible places. With a background in operations, I naturally gravitated toward the logistics and details that make complex trips run smoothly.

I spend time in the destinations I sell—touring resorts, meeting with supplier partners, and building relationships on the ground. That firsthand experience allows me to understand the nuances of each property and destination, and it’s something I’m passionate about sharing with fellow advisors.

My goal is to help advisors feel confident recommending the destinations we train on so their clients walk away feeling like they had an insider’s view of the Caribbean and a travel experience that felt truly personal.

Hi, I’m Beth Thompson, a devoted explorer of all things Caribbean and Mexican (and occasional risk-taker behind the wheel). While I don’t live in paradise full-time, I spend so much time there that my husband thinks I’m Latina—and I’m even learning Spanish to prove it.

When I’m in places like the Dominican Republic, I immerse myself in the culture, chat with locals, and sometimes rent a car just to see where the roads take me. I’m not afraid of adventure—my usual line is, “I probably shouldn’t have done that” rather than “I wish I did.”

Since 2019, I’ve focused on destination weddings, honeymoons, romance travel, and group experiences throughout the Caribbean and Mexico. I love exploring every corner firsthand—and sharing that knowledge with you so you can experience the magic too.
